  32. 1. To create a chart for this data mark a block from 
  33. A1 to D13 and select New Chart from the Charts 
  34. menu.

  36. 2. Try changing the figures in the spreadsheet to see 
  37. the chart update dynamically.

  39. 3. Investigate different chart types by selecting 
  40. options from the galleries in the Chart window 
  41. menu.

  43. 4. Investigate changing the appearance of the charts 
  44. by making selections and using the commands on the 
  45. Chart window Selection menu.  You can use this to 
  46. change fonts, colours, line styles and axis labelling.

  48. To make a selection either point and click on the part 
  49. of the chart you want to select, or click in the box in 
  50. the top left of the charts window.

  52. 5. Try adding your own labels to the chart by using 
  53. the New Text option.  Move it around by selecting it 
  54. and dragging it across the chart.

  56. Try adding a live label.  Mark slot A17 containing 
  57. the text "Average rainfall was..." and select Add to 
  58. chart from the PipeDream Chart menu.  This will 
  59. add the label to the chart.  Change one of the values 
  60. and see the label change on the chart.

  62. 6. Try adding a backdrop to the chart.  Select the plot 
  63. area and drag in the file BackDrop.  BackDrop is an 
  64. ordinary draw file; you can create your backdrops 
  65. with any drawing or painting package which saves 
  66. draw or sprite files.
